Burger King was founded in Miami in 1954 by James McLamore and
David Edgerton. As of 1994, there were 749 Corp, and 6,935
Franchise, stores worldwide, for a total of 7,684 stores!
Burger King has stores in all 50 states, and in 56 total countries.
In 1994, the total systemwide sales reached $7.5 billion.
50% of their business is drivethru, and 20% is takeout, leaving
30% for dine in. Approximately 710 million Whoppers are sold per
year, and there are 1,024 ways to order one! Each resteraunt
serves about 1,380 customers a day (that's about 10 million
customers systemwide). Burger King Corporation is a subsidiary
of Grand Metropolitan PLC, one of the United Kingdom's largest
international companies. Burger King Headquarters is located
at 17777 Old Cutler Road, Miami, Florida
